Research and education have been key in enhancing the provision of patient care at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center for several years. The Jordan Research and Education Institute (REDI) at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center was formed in early 2006. The Institute’s name recognizes the generosity of the Jordan family, and more specifically M. K. Jordan, a medical center trustee, philanthropist, businessman, and community leader. Mr. Jordan would be proud, as his family is today, that his philanthropy would lead to saving and changing the lives of so many.

Our well-trained and certified staff offer complete, centralized management of research, assisting with everything from patient recruitment and enrollment to IRB submission and regulatory work, contracts and budgets, and completion of paperwork. Through REDI, Alta Bates Summit physicians receive the administrative support they need to successfully conduct medical research in the community, and get critical updates in medical education, which together help them to offer the latest and greatest treatment options to our patients.
