Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa are complex “Bio-Psycho-Social” diseases that require a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment. Among the factors that contribute to the development of these conditions are:

  • a biologic pre-disposition
  • physiologic consequences of semi-starvation
  • aberrant nutritional patterns
  • cultural pressures
  • family problems
  • psychological stressors
  • psychological make-up.

Recovery is best achieved when each of these issues is addressed via individualized treatment plans.
